I have learned the voice of my Heavenly Father. He speaks to us differently. Each of us with our various gifts and personalities cannot possibly hear the Lord the same way. There are times I audibly hear His voice, but for the most part, He uses written language.
I started, and I am ending today full of joy, so I wanted to find a verse to express my mood. But interestingly enough God “turned the page” changing the focus for this evening. He does that you know, change our plans, or should I say guide us back to His plans. And today He lead me to a particular verse. Even using the Contemporary English Version, I didn’t get it.
The LORD has a reason for everything he does, and he lets evil people live only to be punished.
Proverbs 16:4.
My commentary says…
God makes use of the wicked to execute righteous vengeance on each other, and he will be glorified by their destruction at last.
This is so unfortunate. Knowing people who have done evil against us will have to face this judgment from God. No, I don’t want to see anyone hurt. No matter how they wronged me, I don’t want them to experience this level of punishment.
So today my hope is in Jesus. Only He can bear that burden of punishment. So today I offer you hope by encouraging you to share that hope with others. It is so liberating to ask Jesus to enter the hearts of those who hurt us. Because only He can fix their bitterness while simultaneously healing our brokenness.
