I am reminded of our greatest weapon against the attacks of the enemy. Today I focus on prayer. Prayer is how we communicate with God. I use prayer to pour out my heart to the Creator. As we empty ourselves in His presence, He fills us with His love and peace. I choose to pour out all my hurt. I release myself from the shame of facing my persecutors. I free myself from the guilt they inflicted upon me. I am no longer bound by their unfair condemnation.
My emotional hurt manifests itself physically through tears. Tears that only my Father can wipe. So today I share my hurt with the Father. After depleting myself of the pain, I want God to fill me back up. Fill me with your peace, your love. Comfort me, Father, as only you can. Allow me to be more like your Son.
Being imitators of Christ teaches us how to endure persecution and attacks. Becoming more Christlike also teaches us how to love unconditionally. I’m learning to love even when it’s hard. Through prayer, I am changing. It is because of prayer I can say I love everyone. I love those who did and said hurtful things to me, my family and those closest to me. Prayer is our connection to the Father. When we feel distant by pain, we can tap into His resources by praying.
